(Middlebourne, WV) – It’s Almost Heaven once again in Middlebourne, West Virginia when the 4th running of the Dirt Modified “MEGA 100” kicks off your start to summer Thursday May 31st through Saturday June 2nd. Country roads welcome back world most wicked modifieds to America’s Baddest Bullring, Tyler County Speedway for a record breaking $15,000 payday on Saturday night. The largest modified purse in speedway history guarantees all drivers a winner while race fans get to witness over two hundred race cars in attendance for their viewing pleasure.
In 2017 it was Stanley, NC’s Taylor Cook who would score his biggest career win over dozens of the biggest names in modified racing like Shawn Jett, Kyle Strickler, David Stremme, and many more. In 2018 all those names will be back to “The Bullring” while also taking on the invaders of the national American Modified Series! Founded in 2010 the AMS is based out of Glasgow, KY featuring some of the top touring teams in UMP Dirtcar Racing competition. Teams like Josh Harris, Tyler Nicely, Mike McKinney, Tait Davenport, and others will set their sights on the ¼ mile oval for their chance at a cut of the $60,000 dollar weekend prize pool.

LOCATION: Tyler County Speedway is located 3 miles south of Middlebourne, WV at the Tyler County Fairgrounds on State Route 18. A mere 18 miles east of the Ohio River and half way between Parkersburg in the south and Wheeling to the North. We are two hours from Pittsburgh, PA, three hours from Columbus, OH, and two hours from Charleston, WV.

MOD RULES: PLEASE NOTE! The event will be sanctioned by the American Modified Series in conjunction with the Renegades of Dirt. Under the American Modified Series umbrella the event will be ran utilizing the UMP Dirtcar rules package featuring no spoilers for the event. In addition all drivers will be required to abide by the UMP/TCS modified tire rule. Tyler County Speedway tire rule states that all four corners must be m30 or m60 with no grooving permitted. Siping is allowed. Tire samples will be taken by race officials. Safety Firebottles are NOT mandatory. There will be a fuel burn off of 30lbs on Saturday nights feature only. Cars must weigh 2370 after feature.
Racers are not required to be licensed members of UMP, AMS, ROD, AMRA, UEMS, DCC, or any other organization. Teams who want to receive points for their organization will simply sign up solely for the organization they wish to receive points from. An event entry fee is required. The fee is $100 in advance or $150 at the gate.
EVENT FORMAT: Officials from both the AMS, Renegades of Dirt, and Tyler County Speedway have agreed to the following event format. The American Modified Series with help from Tyler County Speedway will act as race directors for the event. Renegades of Dirt will award points and promote its racers and the event.
FRIDAY: The field will be split by pill draw. Each team will qualify, heat race, and run one of the two features on Friday. Points will be awarded to drivers throughout the night for qualifying, heat finish, and feature finish. Cars will lineup for their heats heads up based on how they qualify. There will be “#” heat races. Each driver will participate in a 10 lap heat race. Points will be awarded to each participant based on their heat race finish. The top two from each heat will redraw for feature starting spots. Twenty four cars will start each twin feature. There will be one B-Main per twin lined up based on heat race results (if needed). The B-Main will be 8 laps. Friday’s “MEGA Prelim” A-Main’s will be 25 laps and pay the winner $1,500 dollars. Additionally, the top four cars from each twin group in total points from Friday will be locked into Saturday’s main event (Spots 1-8). The top eight from points will redraw (1-8) for Sat. starting spots.
SATURDAY: There will be four ‘Qualifiers’ lined up based on Friday points results. Each ‘Qualifier’ will be 10 laps. The top three from each ‘Qualifier’ will advance (Spots 9-20) in the A-Main. There will be a 16 car ‘Last Chance Showdown’ with the top three advancing to the A-Main (Spots 21-23). There will be 1 MEGA qualifier provisional (Spot 24). (Spot 25) will be assigned to Summit Sanction Shootout provisional. (Spot 26) will be assigned to AMS Series provisional. (Spot 27) will be assigned to the Renegades of Dirt provisional. (Spot 28) will be assigned to the auctioned provisional. Saturdays Finale A-Main will be 50 laps and pay the winner $15,000!
