Event History

The MEGA 100 is three days of stock car racing like you’ve never seen before.  Over the course of the seventy two hours 200+ drivers from all over the country converge on the Tyler County Speedway to battle it out for some of the largest loot on the East Coast, with nearly $70,000 up for grabs just to the “renegades” of no fender racing.   The headlining event features the nations top modified racers on the 1/4 mile dirt oval appropriately dubbed “The Bullring”!
Intertwined among hayfields and mountain tops, Middlebourne, WV boasts the perfect scene for the stars of the division to take center stage as they dual for one of the most prestigious event titles in all of Dirt Modified racing, The Mega 100.  Featured by Fox Sports, Speed 51, RacinDirt, and many more this event continues its quick ascent to the top of must see events each summer.   The areas brightest starts battle the countries biggest names like Hawkins, Strickler, McKinney, Dickson, Hughes, Jett, Sanders, Cook, Vanderbeek, and many others who’ve made the trek searching for the MEGA trophy and a share of the regions large prize pool.

In 2018 the event will pay $15,000 to win June 28th – June 30th.  Thursday will kick off with an open practice, pit party, “Contenders Race” and an all new “Sanction Shootout” utilizing an invitation process to have a true sanction battle royale at the Bullring.  Furthermore, the “Let It Ride 55” will roll off on Friday night shape paying $3,055 to win for one of the most prestigious events in modified racing.  On Saturday night the “MEGA 100” will feature a complete show with qualifying, heats, bmains, non-qualifier and the $15,000 to win “MEGA 100”!

The hosting venue; The Tyler County Speedway in Middlebourne, WV is a ¼ mile dirt oval nestled in the hills of scenic West Virginia along the historic Middle Island Creek. On site camping makes the Tyler County Speedway/Fairgrounds a race fans vacation destination year after year. Lots of great camping available including primitive or full hook ups. Ideal for a weekend getaway or a day of family fun, the fairground has shower facilities, shelters for picnicking, playground areas, and nearby fishing available. For camping info call, 304-771-5661.
